The Yi Jing Library offers a sophisticated platform for consulting the Yi Jing, enhanced by advanced technological tools that facilitate nuanced interpretations.

This app encompasses an extensive database of authoritative works from various authors. Users can conveniently view relevant text passages related to their inquiries with a simple swipe. Additionally, the app allows for side-by-side comparisons of different authors' texts. Currently, the library features over 12 books that collectively comprise more than 4,000 pages of commentary, all available for download at an additional cost, effectively rendering traditional methods of consulting thick tomes obsolete.

The application employs the same probabilistic methods used in traditional oracle queries involving yarrow stalks and coins. Each hexagram's structure, including its trigrams and lines, is visually represented through detailed images—covering the answer hexagram, trend hexagram, core hexagram, counter hexagram, anti-hexagram, as well as constituent and dominant lines. Furthermore, the commentary on the dynamics of individual signs is presented from a unique perspective grounded in Western system theory, offering fresh insights into the Yi Jing.

Importantly, the Yi Jing Library is free of advertising and avoids the use of cookies. Once downloaded, the app functions offline, and users maintain exclusive access to their stored questions and answers.

The basic version of the Yi Jing Library provides all essential tools for engaging with the Yi Jing. Meanwhile, the premium version unlocks additional features such as comparison functions, font selection, downloadable books, and a curated collection of general inquiries into the Yi Jing.

Currently, users can explore the original Yi Jing text in conjunction with translations and interpretations of Hexagrams 1-64 from a selection of notable authors including Richard Wilhelm (available in German and Russian), Cary Baynes (English), J-B. Régis (Latin edition making its public debut), J. Legge (an update within Wilhelm’s framework), H. Barrett (English), K. and R. Huang (English), S. Karcher (English), D. Schilling (German), R. Simon (German), A. Stahel (German and English), Yang & Zhang (Chinese), and Bradford Hatcher (English). The library’s offerings continue to expand regularly.
